For horses that have never won an advertised race (hack races exceptcd); Tho winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse m the race may be claimed for the sum of £20 ; said sum to be paid to the "owner, and any further sum realised to go to the funds of the Club. Distance once round the course. No Entry will be received for any Race except npon this condition, — That all Disputes, Claims, and I Objections arising on* of tho racing- shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision npon all points connected with the carrying out of this Programme shall be final. All Entries to be Sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Palmerston North ; Entrance Money Enclosed with Name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, mul, m enso tho of Handicaps, Performances of the Horse, Name of the owner, and Colours of the Rider. Any Jockey riding except In the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owiicr) a Distinguishing' Colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys. to the Race Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rnles. Horses walking over -will only receive half the Stakes. No horse to save its stakes m nny race except where otherwise specified. No Entries or Nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after tho time specified for closing.
