Timabu, Saturday. Gardener's gtablea, at Saltwater Creek, two miles from the town, were burnt early this morning. Three horses were destroyed, one being the racehorse Mat. ter Morris. Patea, Monday. The insurance claims on local moat preserving works have now been settled. Wellington, Monday.
The body of Timothy Doile, one of the men lost m the boat near the defence works a fortnight ago, was found on tho beach m Evan's Bay, this morning. Hous. Tolo and Buckley, CoTmnissioners, in 'the Bryce-Rusden case, returned to Wellington on Saturday, having completed the takinp of evidence at Wanganui. About 40 witnesses wer« examined. It v not improbable that the commission will be resumed m Welling, ton, and medical evidence will be given as to the exhumation and examinations of the remains of those who were alleged to be murdered. Mr Bryce has not yet decided whether he will go Home, but if not, he will present himself for examination, m Wellington. Evidence has to roach London before November. - The Minister of Justice will shortly submit to the Cabinet, a proposal for the employment of shorthand reporters m the Supreme Court.
