The report of the Polynesian Commission showd that the recruiting system has led to great abuses. The cases of the Clara, Lizzie, and Hopeful disclose a record of treachety, iucluding kidnappingand murder. The Government are determined to return the whole of the islanders introduced. Twenty-five out of the hundred boxes of salmon ova received turned out a splendid success. Three-fourths of the ova are alive and m excellent condition.
