Tragic Incident.
A terrible scrtigi»le ocouiTed on March 21 in Limerick, a resuming emigrant named William McC rinack succeeding iu cuttiug his throat iu the presence of two constables, whom he wounded, as well as one uf the two men who had been in cljhivju of him. McOorniaolc, who lost an eye aud a K'g in the Ameiican war, resided for some with his mother, thu owner of a public house at thf corner ot Ool<i(m«y and Edward-.-drev't* On March 21 his maim r bei.-omiu^ strange, tw.i men were placed in charge of him. During the night he managed to secure two razors, and his attendant becoming alarmed sent for the police. Not lining voiy demonstrative, the police did uot think it prudent to rush upon him. but suddenly lin* man drew n razor across his throat, cutting iih'om ear to ear. The constable* then threw themselves upon McCormack who, though blood Mowed copiously from his wound, struggled desperately, lie struck one of his attendants named Manning with his head in the stomach and with .such force that h« fell on his knees, While in this position he gave him two frightful gashes with a razor in the face, and he also wounded Sergeant Phelaii and Constable Meehan in the bauds. Ultimately, and after the maniac had inflicted several other wounds on those in combat with him, he was, overpowered, and the razors wrested from his grasp.
