The school of instruction will commence operations j on Monday next and Colonel Whitmore j and Captain Badham will leave for Auck- i land m a day or two to inspect the defences there. The Native Minister will probably leave for Wanganui to-morrow morning and it is understood he will visit the various districts along the West Coaet. J.NVEBOA.KGILL, Monday. The Rev. iMr Wolilers, for 25 years missionary on Island Ruapuke, died on 7th inst, aged 73. lie was the first minister to arrive m Southland.
