Messrs Snelson & Co.'s stock sule will take place at Karero Yards on Friday next, the I.sth uisl, commencing at 1 p.m. The catalogue of entries appears elsewhere. The Chronicle reports two vciy lieavy shocks of earthquake .it 4.7 o'clock this morning. The direction seemed to bo from, north to south. Entries and nominations for the race meeting must be m the hands of the Secretary to-night nt the Commercial Hotel before 7 o'clock. Messrs Snelson and Co, are about to considerably increase their present auction mart by additions to the rear of the premises. Mr A. Ferguson is about to extend his premises out to the full front of the street,' thereby improving the appenrnce and increasing the size of the frout shop. The Rangitikei Hunt Club Season opened to-day. Messrs Prendergast and Hanna left by morning train to be present at the meet.
