N.Z.L.M.A. COMPANY REPORT.
Butter. — During the past few days, the weather lias been so bad that the ordinary costal supplies of butter have been cut off, and as a consequence the market for really prime qualities is very strong ; m view, however of the expected largo shipments per Waihora and Hanroto, wo have deemed it advisable to sell between 400 and 500 kegs to arj rive. Considerable quantities of inferior New Zealand remain on the market, there being but little demand fer such. We quote : — Prime, Is to Is 3d ; medium, 9d to lid : inferior, 6d to 7d. Arrivals by. the s.s. Te Anau totalled 500 kegs, and by the Walcatipu 862 kegg. Cheese.— (Duty 2d per lb) still remains very dull of sale, N..S. Wnles is selling m large lines as low as 4d for prime qualities. No enquiry for New Zealand. Hams and Bacon. — (Duty 2d per lb) have still fair enquiry, and prime descriptions find good sale at up to 10£ d for bacon and lid to Is for Hams. Oats.— Prime stout feed m spot parcels have a steady sale nt 2s 4a, but m the facn of recent c.f.i. offer from New Zealand, we do not look for this price to hold. Bright prime tartarians for seed purposes have enquiry at 2s 6d m small llne.s. Potatoes. — No New Zealand m the market. Warnamboola are selling at L 3 10s, but lower rates are expected to rule m a few days. Funpns.— Remains dull of sale at 3£d to 3£d, large stocks being hold m Hongkong, j N.Z- Hemp.— Nothing doing, and late quotations are unchanged.
