The Royal Visit to Ireland.
[Per Mail Steamer.] Dining the visit of the Prince and Princess* of Wales to Dublin the police had a difficulty at one time m preventing a collision, when Nationalists begun to shout " God save Ireland," and attempted chcer.s for Parnell* An attempt was made to burn the Union Jack, which had been stolen from the Mansion House by students, but the attacking party wore driven' off by the combined force of students wid loyalists, headed by 100 police- with drawn tevolvers: The mob took revenge by breaking the windows of the house from which the flag was flying. The police lined the railroad from Kingstown to Dub. lin during the passage of the Royal tr.iin, but there was no occasion. In the procession was the Lord Mayor, John O'Conner, who, although a strong Nationalist, drove m offieml state with the Royal Escort. He was j loudly hissed by Nationalist?. The Lord Lieutenant, who was loudly cheered as he drove through the streets, received the Prince and his party, and the town commissioners presented an address. Iv the passage through the streets the party was everywhere greeted with enthusiasm, and windows and roofs were crowded with spectators. Fully 1000 students paraded the streets singing loyal songs and carrying Union Jacks on the ends of their walking sticks. The city was brilliantly illuminated at night. In the evening the Prince \ telegraphed to the Queen at Aix-le-Bums that he had a glorious reception.-
