The winner.of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse m the race may bo claimed for the sum of £20 ; said sum to be paid to the owner, and any further sum realised to go to the funds of the Club. Distance once round the course. NOMINATIONS Will be received, addressed to the Seci'etary, at the Commercial Hotel, Palmerstou North, up to Saturday, the Oth May, at 0 p.m. WEIGHTS Will be declared on Tuesday, 12th May. ENTRIES J For Handicap Hurdles, Mnideu Plate, Ladies' Purse, and Birthday Handicap will close on Wednesday, 20th May, at 3 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No Entry will he received for any Race except upon this condition,— That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising put of the racing shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this Programme shall be. final. All Fmtries to be Sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Palmerston North ; Entrance Money Enclosed with Name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, nnd, m case the of Handicaps, Performances of the Jlowi\ Name of the owner, and Colours of the Rider. Any Jockey riding except m the colours entered will be lined 3 soys. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Rulo sh:ill pay a fine of 5 soys. to the Race Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. llulcs. Horses vralking over will only receive half the Stakes. No horse to save . its stakes m any race except where otherwise specified. No Entries or Nominations will be received under any pretence wlwtever after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the Postmark of the date of Entry, and Telegrams of the same date will be received. No Qualification Fee required. T.KING. Secretary.
