RUSSIA ADVANCE DENIED.

Earl Granville and Mr Gladstone announced m both Houses of Parliament, that the Government had received a telegram from General Lumsden stating there was no foundation for the report that the Russians had advanced from Pfcirjdeh and occupied Maruchak. General Lumsden further stated m the telegram that the Afghans were still at Balla Murjhab south of Maruchak on the Muvjhabriver.
