A 40-pounder Armstrong: i on the North Head defences took part | m the defence of Takapuna beach. The { customs launch represented the landing- > party. There were 4000 spectators on. : the J? laestaff Hill and North Head, whowitnessed with great interest the mimic* fight on the plain below.
