Thompson m answer to questions about his ao tion m the early part of the session, said it was a great honor to turn out the Government, and he might turn out another Government before long. An amendment simply thanking- him for his address wjis negatived by a large majority, and a vote of confidence was carried. It was stated by the police, m a case for the committal of three children to the Industrial School, that their mother had been found lying drunk on the day after hep husband's death, the house being m a horrible condition. A.t a meeting of creditors of J. A. Allen, cordial and serated water manufacturer, the bankrupt stated he had m about four years spent over £100 m bottles, but had not at present <£25 woith, as he. could not get them returned. Invercargilli,. Apiil 23. At a meeting of the "Waste Lands Board to day Alfred Trapper, a snwiniller, was ordered to pay £11 3 4s 9d, being amount of royalty m excess of that paid by him during the last twenty months. He was also mulcted m costs of inquiry, amounting to £30. In the Supreme Court to-day, the case of the Bank of Australasia v. Mclntyre, claim for JsIOOO, was concluded. A verdict was given for defendant, with costs. The Invercargill Borough Councn to-night resolved, as the Harbor Board, to iutrpduc a Bill next session of Parliament for power to bor* row £50,000 for harbor improvements and reclamation.
