A FUKTHER EXPLANATION
(beuter's telegrams.) .London, April 19. I Rumors of a peaceful settlement of the I existing difficulty between England and | Russia continue to be rife but so far nothing of a definite nature has transpired as regards the situation. The Standard states to-day .that the Ameer ®f Afghanistan is indisposed to press his claim to Penjdeh and expresses the belief that everything demanded by Russia ha 3 been conceded eacept Zulfikar Pass which remains to the Afghan territory.
