AMEBICAN CONSTITUTION.

A branch of the above order was opened m Palnierston, last evening, at Bank Chambers. The visiting brethren from the Grand Lodge (Wellington), who conducted the ceremony of initiation were brothers H. P. Williams, G.M. of New Zealand, W. G. Tustin D.M., and W. J. Scott P.G.M. Twenty-three were initiated, the G.M. giving the different charges. The following officers were then installed : — H. T. Plyger was installed as Noble Grand, T." Sutton, Vice-Grand, D. M. Hanna, Treasurer, T. Jordan Warden, Mr Meyrick, Conductor, Messrs \ Beck, Walkley, and McDowall, Supporporters. Messrs Walkley, Sutton, and Meyrick, were elected to b« the Trustees of the lodge, Messrs Walkley, Beck, and Hoe Auditors, Mr Rutherford Secretary. The opening and initiation ceremonies were concluded about 10.30, and the members adjourned to Brother Walkley's, where dinner was set out m the hoot's usual style. After diacussins the good things provided, a pleasant hour was spent. The toast of the Grand Lodge was proposed by the chairman (Mr Flyger) and responded to at length by Mr Williams, who gave an interesting account of the origin of the order, interpersed with a few telling examples of the benefits to be derived from this and similar institution. After the toast of the visiting brethern which was humorously responded to by Mr Tustin. The toast of the Orient ' Lodge was proposed by Mr Williams and . responded to by Messrs Walkley, Sut- j ton. The proceedings were enlivened by songs and recitations rendered by Messrs Scoot, Watson, Hanna, Meyrick, Sutton, Walkley and others,
