Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Our yards at Palmerston yesterday were filled with cattle and sheep, as usual more stock being brought than advertised. The bidding for both classes was duller than previous sales, and although many lots were passed iv the majority of both cattle and sheep ware sold at satisfactoly rates, which we quote as follows : — Cattle.— Beef (small), £5 15s ; 3-yr steers, £4 to £i 5s ; 2£-yr steers, £3 10a-2-yr stcera, £3 ; 18 months, mixed, 36s 6d ; milch cows, £3 17s 6d to £4 10s. Sheep. — Forward wethers, 9a;; ?f«t ewes, 8s 3d ; store wethere, 7s 9d,; gtor« ewes, 6s lOd ; breeding ewes, 8s 3d • lambs, 2s 9d to ss. We offered some good hoisea but the market was dull.
