(united pbbss association.) Auckland, April 11. At the criminal sessions to-day, John Brown, for the attempted murder of Thomas Brown, was sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. Wellington April 11. At the Supreme Court to-day. T B Taylor was acquitted of perjury ; John Mitchell, Walter Price, and John MoL Gregor, convicted of robbery from them person, received 18 months aach. The "l criminal session has closed. Twenty 1 cases are set down for hearing at the civil sessions. This Day. At the Supreme Court the civil case Annie Barlow v, Shaw, Saville and Albion Company claiming damages was heard. The plaintaiff, a young woman, was a passenger by the steamer Arawa from London to Wellington and when the vessel was m the Bay of Bis. ! oay a large meat sale which was unsecured on the poop fell over on plaintiff striking her m the face and damaging one or two teeth. The jury awarded i-50 damages. Chbistchubch, April 11. At the Supreme Court to-day Wm. Burton, for indecent assault, was acquitted. Tohn Tremleman, for robbery from a dwelling, was sentenced to six months' with hard labor.
