A TIMELY SUGGESTION.
Speaking of the effect of vendors of stock neglecting t o enter them with the auctioneer for the purpose of being advertised, the Marton;{faper makes the iol lowing apropos rotnarks :— lt surely goes without saying that the larger the number,, of entries advi-itisedi-the larger will he the attendance at any stock sale, and tho larger the attend ance the keener willbe *he competition aud the prices likely to be realised. This ought to be patent to the dullest understanding, yet many settlors s«»nd m their stock at the )a»t moment, thus precluding the chance of the gen oral public's {{Mowing that it is coining forward We do not know whrthcr they ndopt this course from motives of economy, or whether they
forgot their own interests until the very last momuut. If the former lie the case they make no saving, for they have to pay their share oi the cost pro rata of tho wale just the same as it' they hud sent m their entries :»t first; on the other hand, if they neglect to send m their entries cut of «heer carelessness, they havo only themselves to blame if they fail to secure good prices.
