Sad Fatality.
MB. T. COOPER SHOT DEAD. The painful news reached town this forenoon that Mr T. Cooper had accidentallyshothimself when out duck shooting. From what we can gather it would appear that Mr Cooper was on the ground trying for a shot at some duck, on Mr Edwards' property, Stoney Creek, when his carbine, which he was trailing behind him, went of, the charge entering his right side and killing him instantaneously. He had his little boy with him at the time. An inquest was to take plac« this afternoon, when some farther facts of the sad occurrence may possibly be elicited. Mr Cooper leaves a widow and two children, who will have much sympathy m their terrible bereavement. The late Mr Cooper's life was insured m the following offices:— Australian Mutual Provident (with bonuses added, Mr H. S. i Palmerson local egent), ±-2400, New Zealand Government, i-1500, Melbourne Accident Indemnity Company, (Mr H. S. Palmerson local agent), £300. This latter insurance he effected only 3 weeks ago; having only paid one premium SA , 12b.
