At the meeting hold yesterday, there were present — Messrs Watt (chairman), Sanson, Bridge, Ross, -Baker,' Fry,- Car* son and Bate. Resolved that Miss Schofield may forego her leave of absence and proceed to Palmerston if the returns warrant another teacher. — The Halcombe Committee wrote accepting Miss Browne as assistant teacher. Resolved that ' Miss - Browne bo appointed. — Bulls: Miss - Vances appointed as assistant mistress. Election of new Members. — The voting papeis were opened, with the follow- " ing results : J. W. Baker 49, iH-. Sanson 40, J. Stevens 31, S. Tapliii 2s, and R. A. Adams 16. Messrs Baker, Sanson, and Stevens were declared elected. Palmerston. — The Building Committee reported that tenders had been invited and received for the. erection of a school- - house at Terrace End. The amount being considered too high, it was decided to call for fresh tenders. . Ashuret. — The Building Committee had resolved to call for tenders for a teacher's residence "at Ashurst, and also for extending the school building at that place. Building Committee.— This committee reported that they .had made the following grants :— To Stoney Creek; for repairs of desks, &c. ; h second tank had been granted to Halcombe ; £7. had been granted to Bunriythorpe ; a tender has been accepted for the erection of a. galley and lobby at Makino Road, the amount being £31 8s 6d.
