Painful Accident.

A rather serious accident happened to Mr Percy Robert when returning from ft pig-nic, outing at: Awapuni yesterday. While riding with otheralonjj. this Frixton Road, aifer, leaving the road from the lagnon, one of the horses ridden by a lady snapped 'at another m Iwnt causing it to plunge and rear, and at the same ., time kick out forcibly behind, striking yoinj£' Robert on the knee. The young man was ju«t able to wait the horse" to Terrace End, but with the foot: hanging. A. doctor was sent for at once on arrival nc Mr Hoe's, and on examination it was found the knee*cap was split m two places. A temporary splint was arranged for' the time, and this iiiorhin or he wac removed to his l»i rents' residence at Sto'ney Creek. It is feared that the accident may disable him for somes considerable time.
