Handicap Hurdle Race of 35 soys; nomination 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy ; 2 miles, over eight flights of hurdle. 3ft 9in high. To start at 11 a.m. 2. Hack Hurdle Race of 10 soys; post entry of 1 soy : once round the course ; for horses that have never won public money, hack races excepted. Weight not to be less than lOst ; Jockeys to ride m colors. To start at 11.45 a.m. 3. Maiden Plate of 25 soys ; entrance 1 soy; distance 1| miles; weight for age; open to all horses that have never won an advertised race prior to date of entry, after which the winner of any such race to carry a penalty of 51b. To start at 12.30* p.m. 4. Hack Race of 10 soys ; once round the course ; post entrance 1 soy ; for all horses that have never won public money, hack races excepted; weight not to be less than 9st. The winner la be offered for sale by public auction immediately after the race, and any sum realised over £20 to go to tbe fumls of the Club ; Jockeys to ride m colors./ To start at 1.15 p.m. 5. The Palmerston Guineas, a handicap of 100 guineas; nomination 1 soy, acceptance 2 soys ; distance If miles ; the winner of any race of 100 soys after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 51b, of £150 a penalty of 71b. To . start at 2.30 p.m. 6. Pony Race of 5 soys ; post entry 10s ; catch weights ; distance 6 farlongs ; jockeys to ride m colors ; open to ponies not over 13£ hands high. To start at 3.15 p.m. 7. Handicap Hack Race of 10 soys ; nomination 10s, acceptance 10s ; once round tbe course ; for horses that have not won an advertised race for six months prior to date of nomination, back, races excepted. Nominations must be m the hands of the secretary at 2.45 p.m. on the race day ; weights posted at secretary's office at 3.15 p.m. acceptances not later than 3.30 p.m. Jockeys to ride m colors. To start at 4 p.m. Q. Flying Handicap of 40 soys ; distance 6 furlongs; nomination 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy ; the winner of the Palmerston Guineas to carry 71b penalty., To start at 4.45 p.m. 9. The Officials' Hack Race oflO soys ; once round the course ; entrance 1 soy, open to hacks owned and ridden by stewards, officebearers, or committeemen connected with this meeting, and must have been m their possession for one month prior to date of entrance ; open only to horses that have never won public money, hack - races excepted; weights not less than 12st ; riders to be m proper racing costume, officials up, forfeit of 10s for eligible non-starters. To start at 5.30 p.m. NOMINATIONS . Will be received, addressed to the Secretary, at tIM Commercial Hotel, Pal- . merstoh North, up to Monday, 9th March, at 9 p.m. WEIGHTS Will be declared on Saturday, 21st March. Entries and Acceptances close on Monday, 30th March, at 9 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. ' No Eu try will be received for any Races except upon this condition, — That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising out of tbe racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, . or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this Programme shall be final. All Entries to be Sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Palmerston North ; Entrance Money enclosed with name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, 'and, m the case of Handicaps, Performances of the Horse, Name of the owner, and Colours of the Rider. Any Jockey riding except m the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw hoises are required to give 'Notice to that effect to the Secretary or Oerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys. to the Race Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. H«ises walking over will only receive hall tbei Stakes. No horse to save its stakes m any race except where otherwise specified. All entries and nominations must be m the hands of the Secretary at the time and place as advertised, accompanied by the amount of nominations and entrance money. Post marks will not be received tinder any pretence whatever and liomiiwiions unpaid at the time of tue duo dntu of weights will be struck out of the list. No Qualification Fee required.
