Dairy Factory.

Minutes of meeting ot directors of the Manawatu Butter, Cheese, and Bacon Manufactory Company (Limited), held at Mr Ferguson's office on Thursday, 26th Feb. 1885. Present — Messrs CXW. Walker (chairman), V. Monrad, A. Ferguson, H. Collis, and J. R. F. Pratt. ■ Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read : — \ - From Mr H. F. Christie; Patea, requesting copies of rules and management and articles of association. Resolved — That same be supplied. From Mr James W. Baker, Pordell, offering a boar for sale. Resolved — That he be informed that the Company is already supplied. From Aitkin Wilson and Co., re shipment of butter. From Freeman R. Jackson, re sale of pigs. From T. King, resigning his position as Secretary to the Company. Resolved-— That arrangements for the appointment of a successor to Mr King stand over until the next meeting af the directors on 3rd March. Proposed by Mr Ferguson and seconded by Mr Pratt — That inasmuch as a report has been circulated that it wasstated at a meeting of directors held on 11th February that the throats of the pigs at the factory should be cut rather than allow any of the milk contributors to purchase any of them, this meeting declares that the above assertion is absolutely untrue, as the subject of the milk contributors or settlers purchasing the pigs was not even mentioned at the meeting referred to, or at any oth<* meeting. Carried. Resolved— That the minutes of this meeting be published. Resolved — That the Chairman wait, on the Company's solicitor a-'id arrange with him for taking legal proceedings forthwith for recovery of all arrears ofcalis. Resolved — That Messrs' Ferguson, Monrad, and Collis ba a committee to prepare a plan and estimate of cost of converting the factory so as to make it suitable for tho manufacture of cheese, such committee to meet at the factory at 1 p.m. to-morrow, (to-day). Resolved — That notice be given to J. Columbine, that his services will not be required after Saturday 7th March. Transfer of five shares from Mr A. H. Wylds to Mr J. King was consented to. Mr Ferguson reported having sold one horse, trap, and harness to Mr S. Watson for the sum of £38.
