Horses : There has been but a moderate number brought forward, with little alteration m value, that if any, was iv favour of the vendor. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, above an average number were entered for disposal by auction. was steady throughout the sale, and, with very few exceptions, lots were cleared at a slight advance on the previous weeks rates. Cattle : The supply has been adequate, atid an improved demand has existed ; consequently, there has been a sliglitly upward tendency m value. At Newmarket ou Tuesday, there was a good muster of all descriptions, aud the Pukehoe Yards were well filled on Wednesday. Prices for dairy cows had an upward tendency, and we quote an advance of fully 10s per head. Stores on the whole did not depreciate m value, and for well bred animals a slight advance was given. For top sorts of beef an advance of 2s per lOOlbs was given. There was rather a large market on Tuesday at Newmarket, but competition was good throughout the sale, and an advance of fully 2& per head was given. Roinuey Marsh rams from £2 12s 6d to £3 3s ; eight Shropshire Down rams were held over for private sale, Mr Stent being unwilling to allow sheep with their fashionable breeding to go at such low figures. Lambs were plentiful, aud sold at from 6s 6d to 12s. Pigs were scarce ; good porkers realized 3£d per lit. live weight. There remains an unsatisfied demand.
