OUTBREAK ON BOARD THE RINGAROOMA. HUNTING UP THE PASSENGERS FOR QUARANTINE. (by electric telegraph — copyright.) (reuter's telegrams.) Sydney, This Day. The steamer Ringarooma arrived yesterday from Auckland. Soon after she was berthed it was discovered that the steward, named Thomas James, was suffering from small-pox. The passengers had disembarked, but fifteen of them were subsequently secured and sent to the quarantine station. Several other passengers cannot be traced, and are still at large. The vessel has been placed m quarantine. Later. On the last voyage of the steamer to Sydney she was two days m that port, and it is believed he then contracted the disease.
