As a great many people seem to be m ignorance of what sorb of articles will do for exhibits at the forth' coming exhibition, the following sketch sent by Captain HeiMPTON, secretary of the New Plymouth-corn-niittee, to Mr C. E. Major, chairman of (-he Hawera committee, may be of interest :— Charcoal : Exhibits from various woods of the district, showing sample of wood'froni which the chavcoal"is derived alongside each exhibit ofcharcoa'. Woods: (1) Exhibit of eu'ba of wood 12x3 x 3, of seS'eral woods of the district, polished on one face ; (2) Exhibit of wood for cabinetmakers' work; (3) Exhibit , of any products from woods of the district (potosh, pyrolyneous, acid, pitch, etc.) Flax : Exhibit 1^ m its raw slate — a, as dressed by Maoris; b, as dressed by . Enropennti : exhibit 2, commeicial prod nets — a, rope and twine ; b. paper ; c, kits ; d, bagging ; c, Maori kits, mats, lines, etc. Animal products : Leuther — dressed, , ininutiictured ; butter, chee-e, Wool. Jnm«, fruit syrups, grain, honey. Medical extractsv. Koramiko, supplyach, hinan, towhai, flax, etc. Series of exhi its showing geology of district, etc.
