A terrible tragedy occurred recently at-Westfield, Mass., Issac Bronson and his wife had" a family of seveii clrildiftn, the'youhgest only twx>. years old. One night recently the wife consulted with her husband about the justice ,of putting an. .end to her life, m : order to escape from her earthly troubles to the ** spiritland," wneiice she would often visit HinT. Brorisoii T" replied that he would put no -obstacles m her -way, although he should regret her bodily departure. Then she took a dose of Paris green, and, as she lay. m the agonies of death, her husband sat by her side and watched for its dissolution. As death approached he called in^sftme.. neighbors- to witness. Jier spirit's departure. Medical aid, when summoned by : an •; exceptionally rational individual, came too late. To all questions and reproaches th'e^el reaved husband only replied: Efe.r spirit was her own'; her spirit was was her owh: v This curious couple Wejte not lunatics ; they were only Spiritualists-— if the terms are : not synonymous; Yet we wonder at the superstition and fanaticism which believed m witchcraft two hundred years ago- , ' (
