The proprietors of the Sydney Jforning' Herald and Evening News each gave £1000 towards the patriotic fund,' a similar amount being subscribed by Sir Daniel Cooper. Colonel Richardson, commander of the New South Wales lorces will take. command of the local contingent for the Soudan, and Lieutenant Colonel Robert Heraans will have charge here.
