The Premier of New South Wales and party Jyid a farrow escape Irom a serious buggy" Uucideut during their Waxatipu tourr;They were driving dowu a mountain gorge when one of the horses . kicked, and . both horses bolted. The driver lost his presence of mind and control of the horses, when Mr Forrest seized the reins, and succeeded m guiding the horses to the bottom of the hill, and stopping them. "'All the party returned to Queenstowu ou foot; "Wellington, Feb. 14. Four men went out m the yacht Diamond, and the boat accidentally capsized, Alfred Urwin, one of the occupants, being drowned. Urwin was assistant cleric m the office of the New Zealand Times.. His body has not been recovered. Dunediv, Feb. 15. ,A pleasure boat was- on the homeward r6n up the harbourwhen.it capsized,and 'Tom F. Rowland, George Dunne, and his sister Mary, a girl of 13, were tsdrbwued/ ' Peter Gilkiuson was saved j by clinging to the mast, and Margaret j Duun was picked up supported by an ! oar. Rowlands was a young married i man, much respected. He leaves a i ..widow and two children. Dunn was 20 j years of age, and a cleric m the Colonial Bank. Tho bodies have not been recovered. It is reported that Miss Dunn, who is saved, is m a precarious state. Wanganui, This Day. James Harvey, a, carpenter, residing on Poverty Flat, was drowned when bailiing. The body was recovered. : j Wellington, This Day. Last evening as Mr Nathan, merchant, and his daughter 11 years old, were -driving m a; buggy the horse bolted, upsetting the trap which fell on Mr Nathan ■and child. The former (received a slight ...concussion and scalp wound, and the girl received a double fracture of the right thigh,; severe bruises, and shock to the. nervous; system. She is progressing favorably. . Dunedin, Feb. 15. A fireman named Ebenezer Brown fell off his train near Goodwood yesterday. He was brought on to town and taken to the hospital, where he died last night. Auckland, This Day. A boy named Murray, aged 4, waß poisoned on Saturday through taking carbolic acid. Simon O'Brien, aged; 18, the son of Mr Q-Brien, tramway contractor, was killed -in the City Baths on Saturday, through diving m a shallow place and striking his head on the bottom.
