The deceased was an old identity, who has had rather an adventurous- colonial cif eery* a 'brief reference: to which will not be. without interest. ■■ The late Mr E'dward'Boe came out to Ne\y Zealand m 1841, m the, barque Gertrude^ * &b*6ri' after Tits' iVrMvan"* lie was one of the number who volunteered service on board the Government i brig Victoria, which. He left for Victoria, and was on various diggings near Melbourne for some five years. He afterwards carried on m partnership with Messrs . Bull the New Zealand. He 'subsequently worked on the Lyttelton, Tithes,, rand wasitherre during the 'Duke : of Edinburgh's visit. He passed away • after a long illness, dying m his brother's arms, at tho age of GO^years. Consumption and physical decay finally (jnded his days .'after ; a long, and chequered .life, m the colonies. His father, the Lite •Mr Edward Boe, of Wellington, died some i eight years ago.
