Lung Worm.
Mr W. E. Bidwell, of Pahiatua,, writ, ing to a Waivarapa paper on the " Lung Worm in sheep, -• says :-r-" We have tried one of -the ren^edies suggested by Mr Foster^ — viz., quo pa.rt turpentine and two raw oil, and find that fqr lambs it ''has) a most injurious effect^nfc of a lot of'lui) dosedi dozen died.^AVe reduced the dose from a tablespoonful to a teaspoonful ,\ but .the effect was the same. We then substituted milk m place of the oil.andsiace thenwe have neverlosta lamb, although we had given thdm of each m turpentine and milk ; but we find that a . full dessert spoon of milk and the same of turpentine, w,ell mixed, is the dose for lambs. The" easiest' plan for_ dosing the lambs is to procure halfu dozen half-pint salad oil bottles, with a small funnel for each for filling them ; put each dose into a separate bottle and shake it ; by this means there is no fear o£ : the. mixture settling, as each bottle is filled as wanted.' If ydu mixe a large quantity' together, great care must be taken. "nq£ io; allow it to settle, as some sheep would get all turpentine and others all milk.' ! <
