CAPTURE OF KHARTOUM BY THE REBELS. GENERAL GORDON MISSING. (ELECTKIC TELEGRAPH.— COPYRIGH.T.J (UEUTE iS TELEG «A«9.) London, Feb. 5. Telegrams are to hand from Lord Wolseley stating that the Mahdi has captured Khartoum through the treachery of some of General Gordon's followers, and General Gordon is prohahly a prisoner. " Later. Further intelligence received shows that Khartoum fell on the 2Gth Jan. Sir Charles "Wilson, with a detachment of the Royal Sussex Regiment, arrived at Khartoum hy steamer from Meteraneh on the 28th. He found the city occupied hy the enemy, and he forthwith returned hut under heavy fire from the river hanks. The steamer was afterwards wrecked below the Shaneuldi cataract. All on board were saved, and landed on an island, from which a steamer ' had been sent to rescue them. The fate of General Gordon is as yet uncertain...
