M THIS DAY. Present '.—Messrs Snelson (chairman), and Wardens, Mathieson anil Sly, met together this to open tenders and transact other business. The following tenders were accepted : — NO. 1 COSTTACT. Messrs Williams and Foley, 13s Gdper chain, £44 2s 6d» 16s per 100 ft timber. Accepted. NO. 2 CONTRACT. % Mr Ross 13s 6d per chain, £87 2s 6d, 12s per 100 ft timbor. Accepted. , NO. 3 CONTRACT. Mullers and Greenin, £145 4s. Accepted. AWAHURI BRIDGE. Mr J. H. Anderson, £745. Accepted. Other tenders opened as follows : — Poole and Freak, £867 7s Cd ; Ihle and Johanaen, £837 15s Ikl; J.Nathan, £873; T. Schlager, £807 Is. ■ Tho secretary was instructed to write to to Mr J. T. Stewart and point out that tho tenders received for the addition to the Awahuri Bridge were over the Amount received from Government and requesting toknow if the Government will grant, an extra 5 per cent, on the actual price. Also to inform him of tho extra cost caused by raising the bridge. The secretary was also instructed to call tenders for the Middle Aorangi Line. 'To apply to Government for money granted for special drainage, also, for Awahuri Bridge.
