Intense excitement has been caused here by a daring and wellplanned attempt to damage the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London by dynamite explosions. Earfy this afternoon the first explosion occurued, the dynamite having been liodiged m the first ery,pt under Westminister Half. The windows of the hall were smashed by the concussion, and a large hole was made m the door. Two policemen and a visitor who \sei«e present being seriousljr in* , juued>. A. few minutes later a second ! explosion occurred, the spot being under the Strangers* Gallery ia theHouse of Commons. The western end of the Chamber was completely wrecked by the force of the explosion. Give person who was suspected of having caused the explosion was arrested on the spot The third explosion occurred about the same time, the scene being at White Tower of the Tower of London. Numerous visitors were present at the time-, and four persons were severely injured, the windows m the neighbourhood being broken, and the buildings have sustained considerable damage.
