Stevens and Gorton's Report.
We had a sucoessful sale at Woodville on 1 5 January, we yarded over 100 head of can lc and over 500 sheep. The'attendance* was good and we were able to quit most of botn classes of stock at the following rates :-*Suiall' beef,! £6 ; 4yr steers, £4 17s" 6<i ; *2*£ yr Bfceors? £3 5s to £3 17s6d; 2-yr heifers, £2 5s ; yearlin«s mixed, 25s to 27s 6d ; fat cows, #4 I2s 6:1 ; fat wethers, 10s 8d ; 2'io 6tootli wethers, 8s ; store ewes, 7s Qd- iAt Bulls on 19th oar yards were flllci with a Kood class of stock numbering from 240 to 250 cattle and over 1000 sheep. The bidding for the .cattle was not quite so spirited but for sheep was qulto .up to the bidding at former sales. We sold all the sheep and several pens of cattle. The following were the rates realized. Fat cows, £4 2s 6d to £4 10s ; 2-yr steers, £2 8s 6d ; yearlings and 18---month £2 4s 6d ; cows-and calves, lo,v m condition, £2 P-s Gil ; forward heifers, £8 ; fat wptliera, 9s 7d to 10s|; 4-tooth wethers, 9a 3d ; 2-tooth ewes, liomney marsh,. Bs 9d ; 4 and G-tooth owes, 8a 7d ; wo.tlicr hoggets; Bs-' ld' ;-ihixpd'h(»gjj«t»«, Gs 6d ; store ew,cs, mixed ages, s5 6d ; Umhs A« 11,1
