At Tologa yesterday two young women, named Sarah and Maggie Harvey, went out on th« river, taking a little boy, two years old, named Finlayson, of thfiir brother-in-law. Through some csuse unknown all three were . drowned. Particulars have" not yet come down. . Hokitika, Jan. 2. A serious accident happened the day before yesterday. Mr -and Mrs Etheridge were driving to Ross, and when about two miles from' Ogilvie's one of the bolts came out, and the horse took fright and started, throwing Mr Etheridge first out of the buggy, and subsequeutly ejecting Mrs , Etheridge on to the road, fracturing her leg m two places, and bruisiug Mr Etheridge severely. Dunedin, Jan. 2. A strange fatality occurred at Seacliffe Lunatic Assylura on New Year's day. Two warders, J. Matheson and Gordon Ingram were larking, and the former asked the other to strike his chest. Ingram did so, and Matheson fell down dead.
