Thomas reports as follows :— Oats, slight demand, 3s to 3s 2d ; fowls' wheat, 2s 6d to 3s ; flour, £9 ; new cheese, inquired for at sf d ; old ditto becoming unsaleable ; fresh butter, 7d, no demand; salt ditto, 7d to 8d for farmers' ; but there will be no indication of any outside orders for at least a month ; eggs have fluctuated, ranging from Is 4d to Is 7d, at present I quote Is 5d ; hams and bacon, lOd and lid ; new potatoes are coming to han.l locally, and should now be worth only £8 to £8 10s ; Poultry, market fully stocked— Turkeys, 14s ; geese, 6s 6d ; ducks, ss ; fowls, 4s 6d per pair.
