HaWard, of the Post-offtce, who heard his' cries for assistance, swam out with a life-buoy, and succeeded m placing it over Cook's head, as he was sinking for the third time. He was then hauled ashore by a rope attached to the buoy. He! had been m the water three-quarters of an hour. He is now m a weak condition.
