"Leedle Yawcob" busily engaged m playing marbles with his little 9\ t-r " Lcnveeza," suddenly looks up and jikihuo;; of paterfamilias, who m reading tho newspaper: " Papa, is it wicked to play marbles' m tamest ?' " " Yes, my son," responds the senior Strauss, abstractedly (having just read i:i a newspaper Hint he has drawn the dressing gown at the cliarity fair, upon an investment of twentyfive centa). " Yes, my son, it is simply a species of gambling. It is never right to take an article from another without giving a fair equivalent. I trust, my son, that yon will never play niarbba m earnest/ " No, papa." replies the dutiful Yawcob, "I don't think 1 ever shail. Anyway, I'll wait until lean make a better shot at a marble." — Boston Journal.
