Counterfeit Money.

Bedmen, father and! son, Waimate, were charged, (1) with t .making , three false coins ; (2) with; colouring two sixpences to resemble j half-spve- , reigns {and (3) with uttering false and counterfeit coins. Tito judge for b.ade. the prisoners being tried on t&e first in-r dictment, holding that it corn|prehended three felonies. The triftl procefided on the others. It apears that the ; young.e^f i" prisoner had' passed to three' Waimate tradesmen counterfeit half-sovereigns, and subsequently, on the police Bearchiiig the residence and premises of the prisoners, they found pieces of lead stamped to resemble shillihgSj lead lap,-, les, ammonia, gold leaf, plaster lOfparis coaguline.Judsofa's gold paintj and acup and brush used for paint.
