We collate from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company^ report of the produce markets of the colony, dated 4th December, the following notes of the state and prospects of the new wool season. —Up to present dates an unusually small quantity of the new clip has come to hand m Dunedin, owing to the broken weather of the past few weeks, and no sales have been held. The quality of what has come to hand is good. In ChristchuTch large deliveries have been made into store and the two sales of the 10th November arid on the 22nd December were marked by animated biddings, and a distinct advance on opening rates of last season, except for merinos, which ruled at about on a par with last November rates. In InvercargiU the new. clip is coming forward freely, and the quantity to he offered promises to exceed that of last year very considerably. At a small sale m Auckland on the 24th November, prices ruled a farthing to three j farthings advance on proceeding sales. In Timani the prospects of the opening sale on the 23rd instant : are very promising. At Oamaru two ships are loading for Home, while the local factory is buying any farmers 1 lots offering, and. giving top ' values for same. In Wellington little progress has been made m shearing operations, owing to bad weather, but wool is expected to arrive shortly m large quantities. At Napier the first sale is to' be held on the 10th instant, and up to the present few transactions have been recorded.
