RESPITE* Oft SENTENCE.
<^By cable to-d*^ we learn that Captain Dudley and the mate, (Stephens) of the ; yacht Mignonette, who had sentence of death passed on them by the Special Court for the murder of the lad Parker, with whose, body they sustained life wKen drifting about m the dingy, have been respited, and the capital sentence will riot theretore be carried but.' The formal sentence of the Court had, of course, to be pronounced, but it was always expected that a respite would ultimately be granted.
