» (united press association.) Chkistchurch, Dec. 8. ' There are forty-foiir candidates from North Canterbury for the New Zealand University Matriculation Examination, which commenced here to-day. New Plymouth, Dec. 8. ' A bird which proved to be English swift has been shot at White Cliffs. There were three others with it.
