Aitken, .£ls 18s; Whittim, Nicholson and Co., proxy Daniel Jobbens,' J-181 Gs lid ; George. Beaven, .£94 Is 3d ; Henderson Bros., 9s 4d. The Deputy Assignee explained that he had not taken stock m this case neither had he prepared a list of the book debts because his experience was that m the case of a business like this where the stock would most likely be tendered for or J some arrangement come to, it was only t waste of time and money to take stock until final arrangements had been made, also that he had advanced the sum of about i'Bo m supplying certain goods : which Mr Beaven had run short of ! Knowing that if the stock were to be tendered for it would bring more money 1 as a going concern, than if I had closed the place. A resolution was passed that the action taken by the Deputy Assignee he cordially endorsed by the creditors. The Deputy Assignee then explained m a lengthy report the principal reasons which led up to Mr Beaven having sought protctioen of the court and after a few questions from the creditors Mr Beaven offered to buy -the whole of the j Estate Stock, book debts &c, for the j sum of .£650 payable at three and six months. I proposed by W. Aitken and seconded I by D. Jobbens and carried unanimously ! — 'That the offer mide by Mr Beaven be accepted and that the Deputy Assignee be authorised to keep the ,sto«k and keep tho business going till wich time as said LOSO bo paid or an endorsement be ao» cepted by tho creditors.
