The Post's London correspondent, writing on 9th October, fnrnishes the following information regarding New Zealand produce : — Nelson Bros, are now advertisng m the London papers that they wiJl forward to any address m England a New Zealand sheep for 46s Bd. They reckon each carcase to be from 70 to SOlbs weight, and charge at the rate of 7d per lb, undertaking to return any money which may be overpaid if the sheep is less than 801bs weight. This is really a first-rate idea, and will, I have no doubt, do a great deal of good m popularising the frozen mutton. The cheese which arrived m the Doric last month is still unsold. The consignees find that it cannot compete with the New American cheese, which is now coming into London m enormous quantities. The New Zealand cheese is therefore being carefully kept m the warehouses until the "glut" has passed. The market for preserved beef is very bad now, and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile -Agency have determined not to sell any of the excelent shipment per Doric until the prices harden considerably.
