The price tendered must bo stated m writing as well as m figures, accompanied by a statutory declaration, together with six months' rent at the rate tendered, and a fee of .£1 10.s for lease and registration , to be lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, at the Crown Lands Office, Wellington, not later than 4 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 10th December, 1884. The tenders will be opened at the meeting of the Land Board on Thursday, the 11th December (the following day), at 10 o'clock a.m., when the highest tenderer, if the tender shall equal or exceed the upset annual rental per acre fixed by the Board, will be declared the lessee. The tendei;ers must appear at the Land Board, either m person or by an agent authorized m writing, on the day on which the tenders are opened. Plans and schedules of the sections, and copi&s of the regulations under which leases will be solil and issued, also forms of tender and declaration respectively, can be obtained at the District Land Office, Wellington ; at any of tho other Land Offices m the colony ; and may also be seen at the Railway Stations and Post Offices m Wellington Provincial District. Tho sections comprised m the Schedule are situated at Pahiatua, in' the Mangaone Block, m the Kopuaranga District, about Dreyer's Rock, near Dreyerton, and front .upon or ai'e adjacent to the main road connecting M asterton and Woodvilh 1 , Branch roads have been formed through the sections at Dreyer's Rock, Central Mangaone, Hawera, aud Pahiatua, at distances respectively Irom Masterton of about fourteen miles,' thirty-one miles, thirty five miles, and forty miles. The Mangahao sections are within fourteen miles of the Town of Woodville. The Main Trunk Railway from Wellington to Napier is now being constructed to a point about sevonteen miles north of Masterton. Sites .for railway stations have been selected at several points. The whole of the sections are covered with forest, the principal trees being tewa, rirnu, hinau, rata^- k^hikatea, with to tar a m 'pfaces^^fthe uudergrowih is, as a rule, heWy y\he general character of the soil is good, and m some, places is of firsts-class' quality, the , formation being, .limeRtone, clay marl, sandstone, &cThe country is generally hilly and undulating, but there are large H,ats as well a.s broken .ground within the area ; ie is \rell watered, ancl, as the climate is also very favourable the land should, when cleared and. brought into cultivation, prove well adapted for pastoral and, to some extent),, agricultural purposes.
