Hfhe debate last night was good and * resulted m a tie. The chairman gave his cafetingvote m favor of Shakespeare. Messrs Grace and Dillion were for Milton, and Messrs Stubbs and Mathieson ior Shakespeare. Next Monday will be an adjourned meeting. The following Monday Mr Patten J will give his lecture on alcohol illustrated with dissolving views shown with, the lime light apparatus .The repetition of the Pic wick entertainment has been objected to by certain members of the congregation.
