Busiuess for the past week can be reported as having been somewhat brisk. The. unfavorable prices which still, keep ruling, arc, however,' a cause for much complaint. Fencing wire is quoted at £12 5s for No. 6, £12 7s- 6d foriNo. 7 and £12 15s for No. 8, with only small business. Kerosene — We may quote Is 7d for duty paid stocks. George Thomas reports produce prices as follows :— Oats still continue to improve, and now stiiud at 3s to 3s 3d with an upward tendency. Maize (scarce), 4s 9d ; flour still remains at £9 to £9 10s. Unions are almost out of the market; and quotations prohibit mucli business being done, lv dairy produce business is active, and cheese moves off readily at 5d ; butter (frosh), lOd ; salt do, lOd to lid ; bacon and hauiß ol* Cauterbury.jcui;e rule f nun B^-d to lOd ; eggs, lld to ll^d ; fowls, 5a • ducks, 6s ; turkeys, 10s 6d per pair. ,
