In this evening's Star appear a few of tlie hundreds of testimonials received by Mr lliiohjens, ojne of which is fro tn one of Aucki'and's best known citizens. It requa'es no further coniment than to say that bi3 illness was of a most severe type, baffling the skill of medical men, while 6tner infallible remedies were tried without the slightest change for the better. Here is what Captain Farquhar says of Hitchkns' Blood Rkstober. Auckland, October 15, 1883. Dear Sir, — " For twelve months I suffered severely from sciatica, and tried various remedies, without avail, and as a last resource I was recommended to give your blopd restorer a trial, which I did, and I haVe much pleasure m testifying that after taking it for three months I completely recovered my health. I must say I had no faith m it at first, but the result was such a thorough cure that I consider it my duty to acknowledge, unsolicited, its curative powers.— l ami &j r » faithfully yours, W: Farquhab, Master Mariner, Pdusonby. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. The Proprietor would here intimate that ....- ..>.-.-•: £1000 will be forfeited to any Charitable Institution if the good done by his medicine has been over-estimated. The proprietor is prepared to meet on a public platform any persons who dispute the veracity of testimonials, and he will undertake to prove the genuineness of the cures effected. : He is. also willing to meet m public the medical gentlemen who have attended the patients and have pronounce^ them incurable, and answer questions put relative to the facts of the cases quoted. Medical men's names have, from motives of consideration, been excluded from all testimonials, but then personal acknow ledgement would add increased brilliancy tothe fame- of the medicine;Mr Alexander Eagleton. Hairdresser, of Queen-street, Auckland, suffered with a paralysed arm, with every indication of the disease spreading through the body. The doctors pro.nounced the case hopeless, and friends believed his end was drawing near, when he was induced to give Hitchens' Blood Restorer a trial, the result being an immediate change for the better; and on continuing to take the medicine, he was, completely; restored toj health and strength. '^ * s ■:' " ' :: Sheridan-street, off Wellington-street, Auckland, December 1 , 1882. Mr Hitchens, Dear Sir,t-As you have asked me to describe my state at the time Mr McMillan recommended me ,to use your Blood Restorer, and the effect it had on me, I will simply . say that whether it ■was Lumbago, Sciatica, or Paralysis that made me so helpless, I do not know ; but, at any rate, I was unable to stand for nine months, and had to be lifted like a baby, and my taste was gone. Dr — - — said I had an affection of the spine, and that I should never have the use of my limbs again. He brought another medical man to seenne, and I was told that / would proopbly live only a short time, and it was no use of tJieir Iwldvng out false hopes. I thanked them, and felt as they did. Mr McMillans, livi g opposite, inquired what was the matter, and my husband told him.* He at once said, " Let her take Mr Hitchens' Blood Restorer, for I believe that will put her all right." 1 did so, and after using the third bottle iii the third week, I began to feel a change, and a tingling sensation m my limbs. Every subsequent bottle seemed to do me more good. Tbe result is that after using eight bottles, I am now quite well, do my own washing, and all the house work, and feel quite as well as when I first came to New Zealand five years ago. I am always happy to tell people the good you did me, for I am sure I should not now be well and hearty, but most likely m my grave, if I had not put myself m your hands. — I am, dear sir, yours faithfully, FLORA NICOL. Witness — Henby Habtnoll, Nel son street. — I have much pleasure m testifying to the perfect accuracy of the above statement. . "N. McMillan, Vulcan Lane, Auckland. H. A. H.
