Mining Accident.
THREE MEN ENTOMBED. {united pbess association.) Kumara, This Day. A mining accident occurred here yesterday between 11 and 12, at a case terrace near the- junction of the Greenstone Creek with the Teremakau River, .on the south aide. Three men named Edward Bo wen, Jas. Bwan, and Daniel McNamara were working m a drive which caved m. The men not coming home to tea a search was made, when it was found thtfy were all entombed; Miners at once set to work to extricate them by two diives from the tunnel. Bowen could be heard from from one drive, and I) wan ftoni the other, about two o'clock this morning. Bowen is extricated, and it is expected Dwan will be rescued about 11 this morning. McNaiuara has not been heard, and as he was only ten feet from Bowen it is supposed he is killed. Bowen is suffering from long iucawration and non-circulation; being jammed on to a truck by a slab which again was only supported by half an inch on a prop. The miners are working vigorously to rescue the othei two.
