(fLKOTRtc TKLEGRA.PH.— COPYKIG-IT.) (SPECIAL TO UUITBD PEKBS ASSOCIATION.) London, Sept. 12. The Melbourne Harbor Trust's steamer Gannet has been launched. Lord Rosebery has been presented with the freedom of the city of Aberdeen. In a speech he advised the workmen of England arid the colonies to unite and bring Imperial federation within the limits of practical politics. He also said that the workmen of the colonies were much m advance of the English workmen on many of the political questions of the times. He thought that federation at present was deficient m practical consistency, and there were doubts if its basis was acceptable to both England and the colonies. One thousand fresh cases of cholera are reported from Naples, but fewer of them are proving fatal. The example set by King Humbert m visiting Naples is inducing the wealthier portion of the community, who fled from the city, to return ami assist the sufferers. The Mahdi has sent 4QOO of his troops to reinforce those at Khartoum.
